Robert “Bob” James Hutchinson, age 77, of Sac City, IA, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Loring Hospital in Sac City.  Bob was born on July 9, 1940, along with his brother William “Billy” and sister Betty, (triplets), born to Joe and Eva (Cheney) Hutchinson in Sac City. He was either the 11^th or 12^th of 14 children to Joe and Eva. He was baptized and a member of the First Christian Church in Sac City and attended Sac City schools. When Bob was two years old, he fell down a flight of stairs, that led to his disability.

     Bob worked at several Sac City businesses through the years: McCorkle Construction, Sac City (Bloomfield) Egg Plant,and of course, Hutch’s Café. He could be seen riding his bike around Sac City, and loved to show it off especially if it was a brand new one.  He took his job of delivering popcorn around to all the downtown businesses and received an award in recognition of his dedication to ensuring that Friday snacking always included fresh popcorn! 

    Bob was an avid bowler, winning several awards including an award for a 300 Game. He enjoyed crafts, including needlework, embroidery, and assembling model cars. Bob won many ribbons with his cakes and needlework at the Sac County Fair. Many had their photographs taken by him and framed. Bob loved to travel and participate in Howard Center activities. There wasn’t a stranger who didn’t become his friend; and if help was needed, he was the one to ask. Most importantly, Bob loved his family; their visits meant the world to him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

     Survivors include his sisters: Donnita Hicks of Sac City and Betty (Neal) Hanke of Topeka, KS; sisters-in-law: Charolette Hutchinson of Sac City, Lois Hale of Dakota City, IA, and Donna Hutchinson, formerly of Wentzville, MO; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many, many friends, including Ray DeBourgh, Joan Hansen and Kim Villhauer, all of Sac City.

     Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Everett (Betty) Hutchinson, Eugene Hutchinson, Adah (Lawrence) Bauer, Norma (Arnold) Ripley, Virgil Hutchinson, Maurine (Willis) Stanford, (brother-in-law) Everett Hicks, Charlotte (Tom) Moore, Dickie Hutchinson: and infant brothers: Paul, William “Billy,” and Keith.
