Dick Meyer, age 91, of Lake View, IA, passed away on Friday, November, 24, 2017, at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake, IA. Dick Marvin Meyer was born on September 14, 1926, in Lake View, to parents Mine and Mary (Peters) Meyer. He attended country school through the 8th grade. Dick then worked on the family farm until marrying the love of his life, Lois Loretta Finger, on February 27, 1949, at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. Dick and Lois later became members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View.
The union between Dick and Lois was blessed with three children: Craig, Dawn, and Scott; while they farmed in the Sac County area. Dick thoroughly enjoyed the farming life and horses that he raised. They moved to Lake View in 1970. He loved his wife and family and enjoyed spending time with all of his granddaughters over the years… he eventually had a few great grandchilden to enjoy, too. In his spare time, Dick could be found crocheting afghans, embroidering, singing, or fishing…he LOVED to fish!
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Lois; children Craig Meyer (Becky King) of Auburn, IA, Scott (Sue) Meyer of Woodbury, MN , Dawn Meyer of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Stacey (Shane) Butner, Jennifer (Ryan) Brockman, Kirsten (Joey) Benke, Alyssa Meyer, Katie (Josh) Zimmerman, Corie (Rich) Collins; great grandchildren Keagen Meyer, Paige Zimmerman, Chase and Evan Brockman, Cecilia and Abraham Collins.
Dick is preceded in death by parents Mine and Mary and all of his siblings.
