Cynthia Irene Seymour, 64, of Lake View, IA, entered eternal life on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View. Cynthia was born April 30, 1953, to loving parents, Wesley and Marjorie (Irwin) Seymour. Her childhood days were spent on the family farm near Lake View with her four older brothers and one older sister, where many wonderful memories were made and her love of animals and nature began.
   She was baptized and confirmed in the United Methodist Church in Lake View. Cynthia attended Lake View Auburn School where many of her lifelong friendships were formed and where she enjoyed playing basketball with her teammates. She graduated from Lake View Auburn in 1971.
   Cynthia’s college years were spent at Iowa State University where she attained her degree. Following graduation from ISU, Cynthia worked in Des Moines as a Computer Operator for Iowa Bankers. In 1984 she moved to San Francisco and worked as a computer operator for the University of California with offices at Oakland, CA. In 2003, Cynthia moved back to Lake View and worked as a lab technician at an ethanol plant in Arthur, IA, before retiring in 2017.
   Cynthia acquired friends easily during her lifetime and affected many people with her kind and gentle spirit. She was an avid Iowa State fan and cheered her alma mater through many seasons. Cynthia found peace and beauty in nature and her love of flowers and gardening were past-times she fully enjoyed. Her genuine love for animals was evident throughout her life. She loved spending time with family, friends and her beloved pets. She displayed an eclectic love of music; British, American and Canadian period dramas; and books of all genres.
   For the past three years, Cynthia was heroic in her battle against ovarian cancer. She faced each challenge with courage and an upbeat resolve. Her humble demeanor, witty sense of humor, and compassionate heart will be remembered by all those who knew and loved her.  
   Cynthia is survived by her brothers:  Eugene (Norma) Seymour of Libertyville, IL; Jon Seymour of Colorado Springs, CO; Bruce (Diane) Seymour of Adel, IA; sister, Gloria Bromley of Lake View, IA; sister-in-law, Karen Seymour of Holly Springs, NC, and many extended family members and friends.
   She is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Marjorie Seymour; brother, Lon Seymour; brother-in-law, Dennis Bromley; and nephew-in-law, Brendan Shea.
