Marjorie Robbert was born to William and Frieda Quistorff Webster in Lake View, IA, on May 3, 1925, and passed away in Blaine, MN, on January 3, 2017. She graduated from Lake View High School in 1942, and married Louis Robbert in January, 1943, in La Jolla, CA. They were married for 47 years before Louis passed away in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her only daughter, Linda Robbert Adams in 2005, her parents Wm. and Frieda Webster, her brother Wilmer Webster, and a dear sister-in-law, Marchetta Webster.
Marjorie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Mary Robbert of Yakima, WA, and their two sons, Scott (Amanda) Robbert of Sumner, WA, and Bryce (Sarah) Robbert of Spokane, WA. Marge is also survived by her three granddaughters, Ingrid (Ray Haskins) Adams of Blaine, MN, Greta (John) Prokott of Blaine, MN, and Holly Adams, of Minneapolis, MN. Ten great-grandchildren were Marge's great joy: Elise, Charlotte, Lynley and Georgia Robbert of Sumner, WA, Hannah and Rebeka Marjorie Robbert of Spokane, WA, Tylor and Travis Haskins of Blaine, MN, and Destiny and Mia Prokott also of Blaine, MN.
In addition, Marge is survived by Bjorn Andvig, an AFS exchange student from Oslo, Norway, who lived with the Robbert family in Lake City, IA, during the 1966-1967 school year. That year fostered a special, life-long friendship, and many wonderful trips between Norway and the U.S. by both families.
Marjorie was known for her positive attitude and ability to see the best in everyone. Her beautiful smile, engaging personality, and genuine interest in others made her a favorite of many. She enjoyed her involvements in the Lake City Federated Women's Club, AFS Club, the "Kountry Kickers" line dancing friends, St. Peter's Lutheran Church Auxiliary, and other volunteer experiences. Trips to Washington State were travel highlights and Marge particularly loved the opportunity to experience Hawaii.
Louis and Marjorie had a true partnership managing their farm, assisting each other over many years of raising registered Hereford cattle and crops on their Yetter, IA family farm. A very efficient and energetic woman, Marjorie kept a meticulous yard and home. Baking was a favorite activity, and she produced wonderful cookies and cakes that her children and grandchildren always looked forward to. Louis and Marjorie enjoyed all types of dancing, but especially loved dancing to music of the 1940's and 1950's, gliding around the dance floor with ease.
Following Louis' death, Marjorie utilized her caregiving skills, and was employed for 15 years at Opportunity Living, supporting cottage-style living environments for disabled young adults in Lake City, IA. She quickly became everyone's favorite "Grandma" for both the residents and staff. Marjorie moved from Lake City in 2010, and went to live with her Granddaughter, Ingrid Adams and her family in Blaine, MN. Following a fall in October of 2016, Marjorie moved to Camilia Rose Care Center in Coon Rapids, MN.
