Richard Allen Straight, age 69, of Arthur, IA, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, IA.  Richard was born on October 10, 1946, to George and Edith (Price) Straight in Valparasio, IN.  He attended school in Valparaiso and later earned his GED.

On July 18, 1992, Richard was united in marriage to Debra Lynn Vrana at the Presbyterian Church in Carnarvon, IA.   They lived in several communities including Carnarvon, Wall Lake, Ulmer and then settled in Arthur.  Richard worked hard to support his family as a mechanic and truck driver.  He had a strong faith in God and loved to help others when he could.  He enjoyed working on cars; and fishing and camping with his family and friends. 

Survivors include his wife, Debra;  daughters: Janel Cooper of Florida, Ruth Straight of New Jersey, and Nicole Campbell of Carroll, IA; grandsons: Jacob, Trey, Ethan, Garret, James, Nicolas and Philip; granddaughter Emilia; brother George Straight of Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edith Straight; sons Richard Straight and Brian Campbell Straight; brother Edward Straight; sisters Patricia Ohden and Kitty Rose; and granddaughter Kelsy Jo Lawler.

Per his wishes, Richard was cremated and a private inurnment was held.
