“I was very sorry to hear of Syd's passing. He was active in the downtown area of LV, primarily the local library and at the
downtown restaurant. Enjoyed listening to his reminiscies from his past, including his home area.”

“ I'll miss Syd at the afternoon coffee we used to enjoy In Kathy's Corner Cafe, where I meet him. Everyone seemed to like him as he was mild mannered and respectful of everyone. We enjoyed joking and discussing local and current events. We know he did not want to be dependent on anyone. I'll miss his mild attitude. Where is his gravesite going to be located?

Sincerely,
Gene Wassom”

“Syd was a wonderful neighbor and a great joy to all of us in our neighborhood, although he was also a great worry in recent months when we "felt" that he was not well, but he would not confide in any of us what was wrong. He rarely complained, told lots of funny stories, and was solicitous of others. He enjoyed coming to the library on the days of the after-school programs to watch the kids with whatever projects they had going on. He lived his life as it came and always tried to roll with the punches, although the past couple of years have been very hard for him as the last of his generation in his family. A kind, quiet, proud, gentle man with a wonderful sense of humor. Rest easy, Syd, your work is done, and now you can join your friends and family.
