Carol Ann Harklau, age 83, of Sac City, Iowa,  passed away December 11, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

     Carol was born September 12, 1932, in Knierim, Iowa to William and Maud (Holt) Busse.  Carol attended Country School in Knierim through the 8th grade and graduated from Manson High School in 1952.

     On June 19, 1955, she was united in marriage to Roland Harklau at Trinity Lutheran Church in Knierim, Iowa.  This union was blessed with two children:  David and Denise.  The family lived in Ayrshire, Iowa, Mapleton, Iowa, and in 1968 settled in Sac City, Iowa.

     Carol was a homemaker and loving mother.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran  Church,  Sac City, Iowa,  active in the Ladies Aide group and the church Choir.  She enjoyed fishing trips to Canada and Minnesota with her family,  was an avid Iowa State fan,  and loved to travel to Ames to watch the Cyclones play.  She loved a good game of golf and volunteered many hours at Loring Hospital.  Carol treated every person she met as family, she was a kind, loyal and dedicated friend to many.  She will be missed and her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.

     Survivors include her husband Roland Harklau of Sac City, Iowa. Children: David (Darla Hughes) Harklau of  Topeka, Kansas and Denise (Daniel) O’Mara of Ames, Iowa.  Grandchildren: Maggie Harklau O’Mara of St. Paul, Minnesota and Ruby O’Mara of Chandler, Arizona.  Great-grandchildren:  Lionel Farahbakhsh and Tripp Boell.  Sisters: Ellen Lou Kyles of, Lena, Illinois and Donna Faye Tankersley of Bryan, Texas; and many extended family members and friends, including Melinda Ourada, Chelsea Orey and Andrew Orey

     She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Alan Busse; and 3 sisters: Eva Lou Telschaw, Wilma Dunn and Bonnie Schill.
