Bonnie Jean Geibe, age 88, of Wall Lake, IA, passed away at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake, on Thursday, September 24, 2015. Bonnie was born on September 9, 1927, in Peterson, IA, to parents Louis and Mary (Heick) Schultz. She was baptized at the First Congregational Church on July 29, 1928. She grew up on a farm near Peterson, IA where she graduated from Brooke Consolidated School in 1945. Bonnie then continued her education at Morningside College in Sioux City, IA, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1949.
On December 19, 1951, she was united in marriage to Harvey Geibe, Jr. They were blessed with three sons: Douglas, Robin and Jerry. She and her family made their home in Paullina, IA for 20 years. Bonnie worked as a teacher for 15 years at the Paullina and Sutherland school districts. Bonnie lived in Hartley, and Cherokee, and then settled down in Lake View in 1996.
Bonnie enjoyed reading and having family and friends stop by to visit. She loved sewing, doing all kinds of crafts, and driving around Blackhawk Lake. She enjoyed watching sports, especially Iowa State girl's basketball championships. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: Douglas (Becky) Geibe of Wall Lake, IA, and Jerry Geibe of Lake View, IA; grandchildren: Ashlee (A.J.) Beyer, Kyle (Nicole) Geibe, Chris (Angie) Rardin, Felisha (Pete) Schmitz, and BreAnna Rardin; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Helen Carrington of Spencer, IA; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son Robin; two sisters: Thelma Jensen and MaryLou Buse; grandson Derek Geibe; and daughters-in-law: Brenda Rardin, and Brenda Dailey.
