Allen Edward Snyder, Jr. was born May 16, 1962 in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up in a busy house in Lake View, Iowa, with his parents Larry and Dennice Mills and several siblings; Ray (Joni) Snyder, Steve (Sindy) Snyder, David (Brenda) Snyder, Kenny (Shelli) Harms, and Laura (Dennis) Gruver. Brothers Rick (Rhena) Snyder and J.J. (Chasity) Snyder became part of the group later on. Growing up with this group Al learned to enjoy fishing, reading, playing guitar, and football (Go Kansas City Chiefs!). He attended school in the Lake View District and obtained his high school equivalency. He joined the Army in 1980.

In the 1980’s, he met his shining star and married Michelle Larson on December 30, 1988. As their lives grew together, Al found he excelled as manager of hog confinements. During this time he also found enjoyment with Harleys and animals. One of his main companions was Dodie, with whom he spent much time.

As time passed, Al and Michelle opened their home to their daughters; Kali Nunnally, Geneva Scott, Ceaira Jo, Delaney Marie, and Rachel Julianna Snyder. He spent many hours keeping the girls busy with activities, and the girls learned to enjoy fishing with dad or getting rides on his bike. And when his wife brought home another stray dog or cat, the animal soon became attached to Al. They were often visited by his son Joshua Allen Snyder. Then came the grandchildren: Elvis La’Alen Nunnally, Caleena and Kayelynn Scott, Bailey, Jace, and Skyler Colten, and Kellen and Brooklyn Snyder.

There will be a Memorial Motorcycle Ride from the funeral home to the Sac City VFW at 6:00 p.m. for dinner.
