Gene Francis Martin passed from this life on Monday, June 1st, 2015 in Sioux City, IA. Gene (Geno) was born on June 17th, 1953 in Hanna, OK to C.B. Martin and Mabel (Lundy) Martin. He married Katherine Marie Rench on March 31st, 1973. They made their home in Hanna, OK. They had three children, Bradley Gene, Adam DeLoss, and Sarah Lynn. Gene made his living as a truck driver and a farm laborer. They moved to Sac City, IA in 1991. He retired in 2001 but remained active fishing, riding his motorcycle, and helping his friends and neighbors.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents C.B. Martin and Mabel Martin; two brothers: Rex Roland and Charles Martin; and son Adam DeLoss Martin. Gene's best little friend, Rocky Gene Martin, (the family dog) passed in January 2015.
Gene is survived by his wife Kathy Martin of Sac City, IA; his son Bradley Gene Martin and wife Lee of Alta, IA; his daughter Sarah Lynn Kruckenberg of Yetter, IA; three grandsons: Colton Joseph Mohr, Kylin Gene Lee Kruckenberg, and James Bradley Martin; granddaughter Kaylynn Marie Kruckenberg, all of IA. Other survivors include his brother, Bobby Martin and wife Trina of Hanna, OK; four sisters: Brenda Mulliniks and husband Gerald of Henryetta, OK, Mary Cummisky and husband Glen of Eufaula, OK, Janet Bradford of Checotah, OK and Debbie McCullar and husband Jackie of Oktaha, Ok. Also, one lifetime sister Sharon Miller of Eufaula, OK. Gene also had a host of nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved.
Gene was a very loving, kind and big hearted person. He touched the lives of many over the years and had a multitude of friends. He will be truly missed.
Gene will be buried in Hanna, OK next to his son with a small private service for his family.
A Memorial Potluck gathering for Gene will be held on Saturday June 6th, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the VFW Hall in Sac City, IA. This is a come and go gathering hosted by Gene’s family.
