“For many years we were privileged to have Bob share his vocal ministry at church. He so enjoyed what he was doing and considered it a privilege to serve the Lord in this manner. To our delight, he often teamed up with Bob Nansteel in sharing their musical sound. Just this past weekend, we celebrated the 125th anniversary of our church's founding. During the sharing of special memories of our congregation, Bob's name was mentioned as to the wonderful addition he was to our services. We send our deepest condolences to his family and know that he has been welcomed into eternity. ”

“To Bob's dear family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Bob was a wonderful man who brought much cheer to the elderly and homeless in Salinas through his many years of service at Dorothy's kitchen, and singing at the rest homes. I will always remember the times a little group of us would sing songs on Sundays at one of the local retirement homes. Bob would sing his old cowboy songs and some spirituals. The people especially really loved "Ghost Riders in the Sky". All of us who knew him from the former Franciscan Worker community remember him fondly. I will pass on the news to my friends.
I apologize for acknowledging his passing so late. I tried to call his son back but could not make out the phone number, on my message machine, and wasn't sure what had happened. I didn't realize his real name was Leslie, and so couldn't find an obituary until today, when I tried a different website.
Please take care of yourselves, and may the Lord give you peace in knowing that your Dad was a kind man who did a lot of good for others, and is now free from his pain and suffering , and is resting with the Lord.
Sincerely,
Kathy Hicks ”

“Know that my thoughts are with you and the family at this time. Bob was so faithful in entertaining the people at Black Hawk Care Center at the time LaVonne's husband was there. Chuck always looked forward to him playing and singing for them. I was there several times too and enjoyed singing with him as did a lot of the residents. Good memories!”

“Dear Ones, We are rejoicing with you that your dad is with Jesus now. I am sure that is a huge comfort and relief to you all. No more sorrowing, suffering, tears, and sadness for Bob! We are thankful that we had the opportunity to get to know him some years ago. Love in our Lord, Donna for the LV Kolbes ”
