Eula Mae Freese, age 92, of Early, IA, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City, IA.
Eula Mae was born on June 12, 1922, in Denison, IA, to parents Raymond and Opal (Walworth) Crampton. Eula was baptized at the Presbyterian Church in Denison and attended country school and high school in Denison. Later, the family moved to Wall Lake, IA.
On November 4, 1946, Eula was united in marriage to Virgil Ralph Freese. She and Virgil were blessed with seven children: Linda (deceased) Gloa, Virginia, Larry, Dianne, Jerry, and Jeff.
Eula and Virgil owned and operated four different businesses in Early over a 28 year span. They started with the Cardinal Café in 1958 and then they ran the North Café. They also started Virgil’s Truck Stop and continued that business for many years and then they ended their career with the V&E Bar. Eula and Virgil then retired in the early 90’s due to health issues.
Eula Mae loved word-find puzzles, playing cards and in her younger years, she loved to go dancing. She will be forever missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her six children: Gloa Freese, Virginia (James) Platt, Larry (Dawn) Freese, Dianne (James) Tiefenthaler, Jerry Freese, and Jeff (Chris) Freese; brothers: Robert (Irene) Crampton, Herb (Margaret) Crampton; grandchildren: Jennifer Mateo and special friend Tony Wolterman, Donna (Joe) Ladenhoff, Chris Platt, Ryan (Jackie) Freese, Megan (Troy) Jeffrey, Mandy Diamond and special friend Sonny, Stacy (Andy) Barber, Cory (Stephanie) Tiefenthaler; great-grandchildren: Cody, Carlie, Allie Jo Bales, Piper, Boen, Phoebe, Jordan & McKenna Ladehoff, Chris & Caitlyn Freese, Savana, Landan, Adisan, Jaxsan & Gracyn Jeffrey, Brady, Bailey, Emma Barber, Dominic, Shelby Delagardelle, Lexi, Dylan, Kenzie Diamond, Sophie Tiefienthaler; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Eula Mae was preceded in death by her husband Virgil; parents Opal and Raymond Crampton; daughter Linda; brother Don Crampton; sister Bonnie Wilken.
