Anne Elizabeth Drewry Willert

Anne Elizabeth Davenport was born July 7, 1919, in her family’s home near Lake View, IA. Her parents were William Louis and Ruby Edith Eddy Davenport. Anne entered eternal rest in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on August 16, 2014 at Park View Rehabilitation Center, Sac City, IA.

Anne lived her entire life in Sac County and was always ready to boast of farm life in her beloved state. She attended Wall Lake #7 and Douglas #6 Country Schools, Sac City High School, and earned a Teaching Certificate from Iowa State Teachers College. She taught country school for two years. On May 28, 1940, Anne married Willis Ford Drewry in the Lake View Congregational Church. Together they farmed the Drewry farm in Douglas Township. To this marriage were born Carol Lynn Losee Burnett (Tom), Judy Kay Johnson (Lawrence), Noel Ray Drewry (Sandra), and William Ford Drewry (Jeanette). Ford passed away July 3, 1965.

Anne married Harvey Willert October 2, 1970. Harvey’s children Ronald, Judith Kruckenberg (Larry) and Joan Stone (Jack) have always been a great help to Anne. Harvey passed away May 12, 1975.

Family and homemaking were always a priority for Anne. She also worked as bookkeeper for Empress Stationery for 23 years. She then opened her home as the Drewry Homestead Bed & Breakfast for eight years. She was always active as a volunteer for 4-H, Douglas Township Trustee Secretary, one of the founders of the Sac City Museum, and member of the United Methodist Women and Sac City United Methodist Church.
