Brent Holm, age 64 of Sac City, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 31, 2026.
Brent Edward Holm was born on July 21, 1962, at Loring Hospital in Sac City to Howard and Jeannine (Glass) Holm. He spent his childhood on the family farm west of Sac City and attended Sac Community Schools. Brent was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City.
Throughout his life, Brent was proudly self-employed, pursuing his interests and talents on his own terms. He was an exceptionally gifted tie-dye artist whose colorful creations reflected his free spirit and creativity. Brent also had a remarkable knack for technology. Whether he was building, repairing, or troubleshooting computers, he had an incredible ability to understand how things worked and was always willing to lend his knowledge to help others.
Brent was a quiet and private man who preferred the company of a small circle of close friends. Though he wasn’t one to wear his emotions on his sleeve, those who knew him best never questioned how deeply he cared. His love was often shown through his actions. He was always willing to help someone in need, never expecting anything in return, and found genuine satisfaction in doing things for others.
Music was another passion in Brent’s life. He enjoyed listening to rock music and would occasionally play his guitar and drums, simply for the joy of playing. He embraced life with a laid-back, free-spirited outlook. Brent appreciated life’s simple pleasures, valued authenticity over appearances, and remained true to himself throughout his life.
Although quiet by nature, Brent’s kind heart, generous spirit, unique personality, and colorful outlook on life left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, his cherished friends, and all whose lives were made brighter by his kindness and friendship.
He will be deeply missed all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his sister, Terese Holm of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law Donna Holm of Farnhamville, IA; nieces Misty (Tom) Brase and Wendy (Dale) Edeker; uncle James Glass of Omaha, NE; several cousins, other extended family members and friends.
Brent was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Jeannine Holm; and brother Bruce Holm.
