Ethel Wolf, age 96 of Sac City, IA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, 2023, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City. Ethel Lou Byers was born on June 29, 1926, to parents Howard and Lila (Smith) Byers in Sac City. She attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated in 1944 from Sac City High School. Ethel was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City where she was a life-long member.
On June 2, 1946, Ethel married Donald W. Wolf at the First Christian Church in Sac City. This union was blessed with five children: Deanna, Kerry, Keith, Mark, and Todd. Together they raised their family in Sac City where Ethel worked as a bookkeeper at the Ford dealership.  She retired from this position in 1987.
Ethel’s faith in the Lord was evident. She was dedicated to her church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and on the Ladies Aid.
She was pretty good at golfing and played in the ladies league. Ethel won several tournaments over the years. She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.  She used her crochet skills to craft many beautiful afghans for expectant mothers. Ethel also had a gift for writing poetry.
Ethel adored her family. She was quite proud of each and every one of them.  She had a good sense of humor which her family enjoyed.  In the spring Ethel would take her children to the woods to look for wild flowers.  She had a keen eye for finding four-leaf clovers and wild asparagus.  At Thanksgiving she made the best pumpkin chiffon pie with graham cracker crust for dessert.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest assured she is now free of all pain, forever a resident in God’s beautiful paradise.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: Kerry Wolf of Brooklyn Heights, NY, Mark (Cindy) Wolf of Burt, IA, and Todd (Donna) Wolf of Garner, IA; daughter Deanna (George) Trotter of Ainsworth, IA; sister Kay Byers of Manchester, CT; grandchildren: Penny (Shawn) Davidson of North Liberty, IA, Jason Trotter of Mesa, AZ, Joshua (Nilamonh) Trotter of Corinth, TX, Rebekah (Tyler) Kent of Andover, MN, Jason Wolf of Des Moines, IA, Ashley (Dylan) WolfTornabane of Storm Lake, IA, Keith(Cecilia) Wolf of Fallbrook, CA, Kyle Wolf of Burt, IA, Jake Wolf of Coralville, IA, Luke (Paige) Wolf of West Des Moines, IA, Amanda (Brandon) Clark of Garner, IA, and Brandon (Caitlin) Cook of Parkersburg, IA; great-grandchildren: Julia (Avery) Martz of Boise, ID, Maia Davidson of Lauderdale, MN, Eli Davidson of Tiffin, IA, Oliver and Brandy Trotter of Mesa, AZ, Samuel Trotter of Grand Prairie, TX, Olivia Trotter of Corinth, TX, Naomi and Nathaniel WolfTornabane of Storm Lake, IA, Sky and Keith Wolf of Fallbrook, CA, Brooks Wolf of West Des Moines, IA, and Caleb and Jaycie Clark of Garner, IA; many other extended family members and friends.
