James David Pontious

James David Pontious, age 55, of Sac City, IA, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013, just short of his 56th birthday, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. James was born November 17, 1957, in Sac City to Frank and Phyllis (Nicholson) Pontious. He was baptized and confirmed at the Baptist Church in Sac City.

Jim attended school in Sac City graduating in 1977 and then went to Webster City Masonry School. On February 5, 1982 he was united in marriage to Becky Blessington at the Baptist Church in Sac City. To this union a son, Cody, was born.

Jim was employed at Noble Manufacturing for several years, did some upholstery work, and helped on a hog farm. He was forced to quit due to his health. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, playing pool/billiards, and doing handiwork. He enjoyed working on cars and often helped his friends with their vehicles. Jim loved spending time with his son and family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his son, Cody Pontious of Sac City; his parents, Frank and Phyllis Pontious of Sac City; brother Bruce (Denise) Pontious of Denver, CO; several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
