Marjorie “Marge” Steinkamp, age 84, of Wall Lake, IA, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City, IA. Marjorie Ann Wittrock was born on May 10, 1929, in Hartington, NE, the daughter of Charles and Francis (Roth) Wittrock. She attended elementary school at Holy Angels in Roselle, IA and graduated from St. Angela Academy in Carroll, IA in 1947.
On April 19, 1949, Marge was united in marriage to the love of her life, Edward Steinkamp at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle, IA. This union was blessed with ten children: Larry, Kenny, David, Tom, Bob, Randy, Rick, Marilyn, Mary Lou, and Ronald.
Marge was a devoted wife and mother, whose priority was caring for her family and providing a loving and comfortable home. She loved to cook, play cards, tend her garden, work on embroidery projects, making many wonderful gifts for her family. She especially loved to play with her grandchildren and have family gatherings with her brothers and sisters. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 64 years, Edward; her children: Larry (Peggy) Steinkamp of Lake View and their children: Chad, Chris and Carin Bejarno; Kenny (Janet) Steinkamp of Auburn and their children: Jeff, Erin Baumann, Lindsay Kavanaugh, and Greg; Tom (Cindy) Steinkamp of Spencer and their children: Tyler, Cody and Ryan; Bob (Kim) Steinkamp of Primghar and their children: Justin and Rachel; Randy (Lynette) Steinkamp of Fort Dodge and their daughter Rylie; Rick (Sara) Steinkamp of Wall Lake and their children: Austin, Brittany and Carissa; and Marilyn (Michael) Kuchar of La Plata, MD and their children: Cassie and Alex; and 11 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her sisters: Dorothy Berger of Lohrville and Velma Tigges of Carroll; brothers: Charles Wittrock of Carroll, Clarence (Catherine) Wittrock of Carroll, Ron (Jannette) Wittrock of Anita, and Merlie Wittrock of Carroll; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
