Jeremy John Schulte, age 36, of Lake View, IA, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013, from a tragic farm accident. Jeremy was born on February 16, 1977, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA, to Randy and Janelle (Smidt) Schulte. He was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburn and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake where he remained a member. Jeremy grew up in Lake View and graduated from Wall Lake View-Auburn High School in 1995. He went on to Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg and received his Farm Management degree.

Jeremy owned and operated a liquid manure business for over 16 years. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Bears, Cubs, and Hawkeye Fan. He loved the outdoors, boating, biking and coached the Raiders Little League Team with his best friend Cory Weber for several years. He was a member of Black Hawk Men’s Club and helped organize a school wide walkout in support of the consolidation of the Wall Lake and Lake View – Auburn Schools. Jeremy participated in RAGBRAI and was captain of their RAGBRAI team “K’moniwannaleiya”. A favorite memory for his family was when during a power outage caused by an ice storm in January 2010 he brought his 2 grandmothers to the farm and entertained them for 3 days. He lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his parents, Randy and Janelle Schulte of Lake View; his brother Justin (Nicole) Schulte of Olathe, KS; sister Kristin Schulte (fiance Kevin Joplin) of Kansas City, MO; special friend Katie Schrad of Arcadia; nephews and niece: Payton and Easton Schulte of Olathe, KS and Ashlee Joplin of Kansas City, MO; Grandmother Opal Schulte of Lake View; Aunt Julie (Richard) Ruggles of Carroll, Uncle John (Gloria) Schulte of Clive, IA, and Aunt Becky (Gerard) Veilleux of Collierville, TN; cousins: Bret and Brandie Ruggles, Alissa and Kendal Wiemers, Anna and Wes Kisting, Jacob Schulte, and Jordan Veilleux; lifelong friend Cory Weber; many extended family members and friends. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 21st at 1:00pm, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake. Interment will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation is from 3-8:00pm, Wednesday, November 20th at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home, 1120 W. Main Street, Sac City, IA, with a vigil service at 7:00pm.
