Mildred Lietz, age 88 of Lake View, IA, passed away at Black Hawk Life Care Center on Monday, April 25, 2022. Mildred Reka was born on July 9, 1933, to parents William and Reka (Voss) Buse in Ulmer, IA. On August 3, 1933, Mildred was baptized at the Lutheran Church in Ulmer, and on June 13, 1948, she was confirmed. She grew up in the Auburn area where she attended grade school and graduated from the Auburn High School.
On August 26, 1951, Mildred was united in marriage to Eldred Lietz. This union was blessed with three children: Gary, Wayne, and Glenna. Mildred kept busy with her family and as a farm wife. She also enjoyed cross-stitch, crochet, knitting, and quilting and farming alongside of her family. She loved spending time with her family, friends, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mildred was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school, participated in Ladies Aid, Couples’ Club, and the Altar Committee.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 70 years Eldred Lietz of Lake View, IA; children: Glenna Lietz of Buffalo, MN, Gary (Elaine) Lietz of Lake City, IA, and Wayne (Julie) Lietz of Breda, IA; grandchildren: Chad (Aileen) Lietz of Columbia Heights, MN, Jennifer (Stuart) Bohm of Lake View, IA, Michelle (Alex) Farley of Auburn, IA, Rachel (Keith) Naughton of Lake City, IA, Kim (Rob) Onuma of Buffalo, MN, and Paul Muellerleile of Buffalo, MN; great-grandchildren: Zachary Lietz, D.J. Reiling, and Austin Farley.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Reka Buse, brothers: Everett and Kenneth Buse, sisters-in-law: Janice & Eleanor Buse, and many other loved ones.
