Ernest (Ernie) Griffith, age 57 of Fonda, IA passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Fonda Specialty Care. Ernie Lynn Griffith was born on June 9, 1964, in Storm Lake, IA to parents Ellsworth Donald Griffith and Shirley Beth (Ellis) Griffith. He weighed 3 lbs. 3 ½ ounces when he was born. He grew up with his family in Newell, IA attending grade school there. He graduated on May 29th, 1983 from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, IA.
Ernie worked at Perkins in Des Moines, IA as a dishwasher and later returned to the Sac City area and then resided in Fonda, IA.
He was known for his love of drinking Pepsi and following the Pittsburg Steelers and Iowa Hawkeyes. Ernie also enjoyed playing cards and visiting with others in their homes.
Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings: Ellsworth (Susan) Griffith of Kyle, TX, Wayne (Teresa) Griffith of Waterloo, IA, and Sherry (Luke) Crabb of Lytton, IA; niece: Wendy (Josh) Harms of Denison, IA and their son Alix; nephews: Jeremy Crabb of Lake View, IA, Brian Crabb of Lytton, IA, and his son Cody.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Warren Griffith.
