Janet Eleanor Engel age 86, of Sac City, IA, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City, IA. Janet (Roose) Engel was born on March 13, 1935, to parents Walter and Lois (Hansen) Roose in Sac City, IA.  Janet grew up in Sac City where she attended grade school and graduated from Sac City High School.
   On June 26, 1953, Janet was united in marriage to Clarence John Engel. This union was blessed with four children: Stephen, Shirley, Beverly, and Ann.  When Janet and Clarence were first married, they lived in the tenant house on the farm and later moved to the big house. Janet and the children were baptized Catholic in 1962 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early, IA. They raised their children on the farm southwest of Early, IA, where Janet was a homemaker.  In her free time, she enjoyed painting, reading, traveling, roller-skating, and most of all spending time with her family.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence Engel on April 13 2001, and her brother Gene Roose of Florida.
   Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Stephen (Mary Lou) of Sac City, IA, Shirley (Edward) Naughton of Lake City, IA,  Beverly Reinart (Rick Engel) of Homer, NE, Ann (Glen) Samuelson of Laurens, IA; her sisters Elaine Cook (Carlton) of Green Bay, WI, and Margaret Nunez of Sac City, IA; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; many extended family members and several friends.
