Robert D. Patton Sr.

Robert Dwight Patton, Sr., age 77, of Lake View, IA, passed away on December 2, 2013, at his home in Lake View. Bob was born on December 28, 1935, in Algona, IA, to Clifford and Lucille Carlson. He was adopted by Morris and Laura Patton and grew up in the Fort Dodge area. He was a member of the Catholic faith.

Bob was married to Darlene Patton, they later divorced. To this union six children were born: Denise, Julie, Michael, Robert, Jr., Terry, and Stewart. Bob met Barbara Booth in Fort Dodge. They moved to Arkansas in 1979 where they were married at Prescott, AR, on April 23, 1980. They moved back to Iowa to be closer their family.

Bob worked hard to provide for his family at various jobs throughout his life including: Mohr’s Fruit Stand, sheep shearing, Krudico Water Service, and working at the Lake View Hotel. He enjoyed camping and fishing, building bird houses and tinkering on various projects. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his children: Denise (Lee) Lawson of Ames, Julie (Charlie) Degner of Fort Dodge, Michael Patton of Fort Dodge, Robert Patton Jr. of Fort Dodge, and Stewart Patton of Fort Dodge; step children: Rhonda (Mike) Behoneck of Livermore, Melissa (Tim) Beyerink of Lytton, Earl Shade of Lake View and Troy Shade of Carnarvon; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Denise Clark of Ohio; brother Steve Carlson of Fort Dodge; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
