Adeline “Addie” Rita Hott, age 86, of Wall Lake, IA, formerly of Storm Lake, IA, passed away on Wednesday, February 05, 2014, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake. Addie was born on May 23, 1927, to William and Mary (Thies) Lunkenheimer in Odebolt, IA. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Odebolt and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. She graduated from Odebolt High School.

Addie was united in marriage to Phillip George Hott in Odebolt on February 19, 1946. This union was blessed with two sons: Bill and Ron who survive her. They made their home in Storm Lake where Addie worked for many years as a sales clerk at Varenhorst Fabrics and was known as the “Curtain Lady.” She retired at the age of 63 to be with her family.

Her life revolved around her family. She cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and traveling. Her dog Suzie was her constant companion. Addie also loved her flower garden, nurturing her roses, and loved chocolate candy so much that she bought stock in Hershey’s Chocolate. She will be missed by many who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons: Bill Hott and wife Doris of Lake View and Ron Hott and wife Lisa of Storm Lake; four grandchildren: Paul Hott and wife Angie of Defiance, MO, Heather (Hott) Moore and husband George of Lebanon, OH, Joy Phelps and husband Steven of Storm Lake and Katie Hott and fiancé Timell Canady of Storm Lake; seven great-grandchildren: Sydney and Tyler Hott, Emily and Isaiah Moore, and Ruby, Cael, and Peyton Phelps; and extended family members.
