Linda Rae Freese, age 65, of Omaha, NE formerly of Early, IA passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was born on April 3, 1948 to parents Virgil and Eula Mae (Crampton) Freese in Carroll, IA. She received her elementary education at country school in Boyer Township until she was 10 years old . At that time her family moved to Early, IA where Linda continued her education and graduated from Crestland High School in 1966. She went on to further her education at the Nebraska School of Business receiving her business degree. After college she moved home and worked in the family restaurant business for the next 5 years.

Linda moved to Omaha in 1973 where she worked for Mutual of Omaha as a program analyst for 38 years before retiring on October 25, 2010. She enjoyed playing slow pitch softball, sometimes 3 leagues at once and continued to play and coach until the age of 54. She loved country music, reading, and was proud to have traveled to 48 of the 50 United States. She loved being outdoors, spending time with her family and friends, and especially spending time with her second family "the Tiefenthaler's" .

Those left to cherish her memory include her brothers: Larry (Dawn) Freese, Jerry Freese, and Jeff (Chris) Freese; sisters: Gloa Freese, Virginia (James) Platt, Dianne (Jim) Tiefenthaler; nieces and nephews Jenny and Tony and family, Donna and Joe and family, Chris, Ryan and Jackie and family, Megan and Troy and family, Mandy and Sonny and family, Cory and Steph and family, Stacy and Andy and family. And her second family Jeanne and Gary Schiebel, Dawne (John) Zagurski & family, Jason (Tasha) Schiebel & family, Marilyn & Don Glasnapp, Melissa (Derek) Sybert & family, Aaron Glasnapp & fiance Katherine, Matt Glasnapp and Cheri and Joni Tiefenthaler. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
