Myrtie Courter, age 86 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019, at her home in Sac City. Myrtie Ellen Wheeler was born on October 15, 1932, to parents Clifford and Florence (Youngdahl) Wheeler in Pratt, KS. She was raised and went to school in Lake City, IA.
   On January 27, 1950, Myrtie married the love of her life, Russell Junior Courter, in Sioux City, IA. This union was blessed with six children: Zo Ellen, Russell, Donald, Mary Lou, Billie Jo, and John.  Myrtie took care of her family as a homemaker.  In her spare time, she enjoyed gambling with friends and family and playing games on the computer.  She also liked to crochet and visit her friends at Park View.  Myrtie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
   Left to cherish Myrtie’s memory are her children: Zo Ellen (Ed) Daisy of Sac City, IA, Russell “Butch” (Leann) Courter of Lake City, IA, Mary Lou Booth of Sac City, IA, Billie Jo Courter of Yetter, IA, and John (Paula) Courter of Sac City, IA; eleven grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. 
   Myrtie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell Courter; son Donald “Lee” Courter; grandson Rhobby Courter; great grandson Skyler Harlen; brother Carroll Wheeler; and sisters Marie Poulson and Frances Baty.
