Jim V. Youll, age 82, of Sac City, IA, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA. Jim was born on May 13, 1931, to John Vinton and Wilkie (Osborn) Youll in Pierson, IA. He was baptized at the Methodist Church in Pierson. He attended school in Pierson, Cherokee, Des Moines, and Boone, IA graduating from Boone High School in 1949. He served in the Army National Guard and later as a liaison for the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) in Sac County.

On August 20, 1950, Jim was united in marriage to Lorna Jean Hunter in Boone at the Marian Street Methodist Church. This union was blessed with four children: Jean Ann, John DeWayne, Susan Marie and Allan Lee. Jim worked as a plumbing and heating contractor in Boone, Ames, and Des Moines before starting Youll Plumbing and Heating in 1952 in Pierson, IA. He moved his business to Anthon, IA in 1953. In 1966 he joined his brothers in Sac City, then bought the business upon the retirement of his brothers. Jim retired in 1992.

He enjoyed family and friends, dancing, playing cards, golf, playing Santa Claus, riding Cushman Scooters in parades, and having friends over to grill. Jim and Lorna enjoyed 16 winters in Texas at Victoria Palms Resort. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sac City and United Methodist Men. Jim was a member of Occidental Lodge No. 198 A.F. & A.M. in Sac City, was Past Master of Cerulean Lodge No. 550 A.F. & A.M. in Anthon, IA, a member of the Sioux City Valley Scottish Rite, and ZA GA ZIG Shrine in Des Moines. He was a member of Kiwanis and the Sac City Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Sac Community School Board. In Anthon he served as a volunteer fireman being Fire Chief for a number of years, and was also on the Anthon City Council. Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His family was very dear to him. As his children grew up he was very proud of their accomplishments, and when they had children he loved being a grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Lorna; children: Jean (Steve) Jacobsen of Johnston, IA; John (Mary) Youll of Bentonville, AR; Susan (John) Andrews of Bentonville, AR; Allan (Heidi) Youll of Allen, TX; 11 grandchildren: Katie (Brent) Micke, Tyler (Jessica) Jacobsen, Brady Jacobsen, John Jacobsen, John Youll, Jim (Katie) Youll, Josie (Robbie) Herald, Jeremy (Lindsay) Andrews, Quin (Kirk) Showalter, Shelby Youll, and Scott Youll; 13 great grandchildren: August, Makayla, Jaedyn, and Rayna Micke; Hunter Jacobsen; Vince and Cooper Herold; Madeline Youll; Kherington and Kennedy Andrews; Christian, Stella, and Lucie Showalter; his sister, Eleanor Murken of Canby, MN; extended family and many friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents: John and Wilkie Youll; brothers: John Rollo Youll and George Youll; sisters: Thelma Wahl, Ruth Pohl, Gladys Sparks, and an infant sister.
