Edna Margaret Huff passed away peacefully on February 17, 2016, at Twilight Acres Care Center in Wall Lake, IA.  Edna was born May 7, 1921, on the family farm South of Wall Lake to Charles Johnson and Anna Zimmerman Johnson.  She was baptized in the Wall Lake Methodist Church and completed 8th grade in country school.

On August 26, 1936, Edna married John (Jack) Huff in Sedalia, MO. They made their home in Odebolt, IA until the start of WWII when they moved to Jackson, MI where Jack worked in a war factory.  After the war, they returned to Odebolt and in 1952, they moved to the Johnson family home place South of Wall Lake. In 1996, they moved to Lake View.  Jack passed away in 2001 and she lived there until October of 2014 when she entered Twilight Acres Care Center in Wall Lake where she enjoyed all the activities until the last few days before her death.

Her children and all her grandchildren were all very special to her.  She enjoyed their visits and always encouraged and supported them, as well as their friends who often came out to the farm with the grandkids to visit.

Edna loved caring for, cooking and baking for her family.  She was known for her good bread and pies.  She had a green thumb and raised beautiful gardens and flowers.  She loved quilting and finishing antiques. She was also a talented painter.  She loved the poetry and the writings of Robert Frost and also wrote and easily recited poetry of her own.  She was an avid reader of all types of literature as well as the daily newspapers.

Edna was a Charter member of the Wall Lake Lions Club, had been a member of the American Home section of the Wall Lake Women’s Club, a member of the Care Review Committee at Twilight Acres,  and an Elder and active member of the UPW at Wheatland Presbyterian Church.  Prior to moving to Twilight Acres, she was a member of the Lake View Library Poetry Club.

Survivors include her two children: Dennis (Edie) Huff of Monroe, WA and Joyce (Ronald) Bettin of Lake View, IA;  five grandchildren: Gary (Karin) Huff of Anita, IA, Tami Huff of Tacoma, WA, Mark Huff of WA, Janelle (Wade) Reed of Bagley, IA, and John Huff of WA; great-grandchildren Aaron Divis of Columbus, NE, Jill Huff of Omaha, NE, Drew Davis of Ames, IA, Alex Davis of Minnetonka, MN, Nick Davis of Cedar Falls, IA, Sierra Huff of Monroe, WA, and Ashley Porsch of Indianola, IA: three great-great grandchildren: Liam Davis, Jordan Divis, and Kylar Lavallee; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family members; and all of those kids who loved her and knew her as Grandma Huff as well.

“I am so glad I got to know Edna from doing her hair! She so became one of my favorite ladies! We had the best talks, laughs, stories! We never ran out of things to talk about. I tripped over a cord one day while she was in there and fell. She said "Heidi, old people are suppose to be clumsy not you young folks, you got up quick though, it would take me a while". I will always have great memories of her and when I see the color gold she will be on my mind.
Until we meet again, I'll think of you Edna!!”

“I am very sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. No one wants to happen this as God has promised to, one day soon, eliminate death forever, along with all sickness, pain, and sorrow. (Rev.21:4) He has also promised to reunite us with our loved ones on a restored paradise earth. The Bible says he yearns to do this. (John 5:28,29; Job 14:14,15) I hope these scriptures will bring comfort to each of you as we will meet Edna again soon. ”
