Sharon Rezek, age 70 of Worthington, MN passed away on Friday, September 18th, 2026, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Sharon Ann Hansen was born on August 30th, 1956 to Gale and Carol Hansen (Kladstrup) in Storm Lake, IA. She grew up on the family farm near Newell, IA, where she attended high school and was a member of Nain Lutheran Church. Her strong faith followed and sustained her through life.
Sharon attended college at Wayne State University in Nebraska, where she met and married Chuck Rezek in 1978.  She earned a degree in Social Work. Her vocation led to a number of roles where she helped adults with disabilities live, work, pursue their goals and participate more fully in the community. Her ability to build meaningful relationships with her clients led to many life-long connections, which she cherished.
Sharon had a patience with people that was particularly valuable in both her work and life. Known as a warm, genuinely kind and a generous listener, her calm nature led to many hours of contentment, chatting happily or sitting quietly on the back porch with a cat on her lap.
Sharon was inordinately proud of her three children, Becky, Sara and Joey, flowering them with affirmations and reassurances that they were probably the best ever, consistently praying for their health and happiness. She enjoyed staying caught up with her grandkids' activities and stories, sharing her deep pride in them as well.
Mourning her passing are her children: Becky (Jason) Toso of Minnetrista, MN; Sara (Brent) Johnson of Shoreview, MN; Joey (Margaret) Rezek of Manhattan, KS; ex-husband Chuck Rezek of Worthington, MN; brother Ray (Jill) Hansen of Churdan, IA; brother-in-law Fred (Barb) Anderson of Norfolk, NE; grandchildren Josh Toso, Brady Toso, and Nora Johnson; best friend Frieda Brazeal; many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Gale and Carol Hansen; and sister Mary Anderson.

“Despite being a "distant" cousin, I knew Sharon her entire life and always admired her quiet steadfast kindness. Her job required patience and kindness, so she was perfectly suited to help those less fortunate, and I was always in awe that she kept at it even after she could have retired! My heartfelt condolences from California to all our mutual family, and especially her children and grandkids! She's still watching over you.”

“My deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. I worked at Hope Haven in Rock Valley and got to know her through our many phone conversations and my visits to the workshop in Worthington. We would identify ourselves as she was the Sharon from up north and I was the one from down south and had a fun working relationship. God bless you on this grief journey. ”

“Sharon grew up just east of our farm. Both my sister & I took lessons from Carol her mom. We were close neighbors, we played often together & I even babysat Sharon & sibling's. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing. So many memories to cherish as we were a tight knit neighborhood. ”
