Kent Pugh, age 56 of Sac City, IA, was called home by God on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Kent Eugene Pugh, son of Walter and Karen (Sackett) Pugh, was born on June 25, 1969, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from East High School in Des Moines in 1987. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and was a member of the Iowa Air National Guard, retiring in 2016.

While living in Des Moines, Kent met Ann Mohr in January of 1993 through his best friends, Mark and Lisa Tesdall. Around this time, Kent made the decision to enter the Catholic Church. Kent and Ann traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska, for his formation, and he was grateful to receive instruction from Sister Veronica of the Marian Sisters. Kent received the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation on October 30, 1993, and soon after received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City.

On November 26, 1993, Kent was united in the Sacrament of Marriage to Ann Mohr at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Together they have been blessed with five children: Walter, Elise, Marta, Matilda, and William.

Kent earned a certification in Tool and Die from Des Moines Area Community College. He eventually opened and operated his own business for over 20 years. Most recently, he worked in maintenance at Loring Hospital.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Kent is survived by his wife of nearly 33 years, Ann of Sac City, IA; children: Walter (Chloe) and grandson Kilian of Wichita, KS, Elise of Wichita, KS, Marta of Sac City, IA, Matilda of Kansas City, MO, and William of Sac City, IA; siblings, all of Des Moines: Kirk Sackett, Kim Cline (Jim), Kelli Saluri (Ben), and Korby Pugh; mother-in-law Ruth Mohr and brothers-in-law Jim Mohr and Larry (Laurie) Mohr all of Sac City, IA; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Karen Pugh; brother Kale Pugh; father-in-law Wayne Mohr; sister-in-law Sister Michelle Mohr; and brother-in-law Tom Mohr.
