Linda Sue Schultz, age 60, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at St.
Anthony’s Regional Medical Center in Carroll, Iowa after a long and extremely courageous journey with cancer. Linda Sue was born on October 9, 1961 to Clyde and Marsha (Lange) Ames of Boone, Iowa. She was baptized at Central Christian Church in Boone, Iowa. Linda attended grade school in Boone until she and her family moved to Lake View, Iowa where she would graduate from Lake View Auburn High School in 1980.
On September 18, 1982, Linda married Richard Schultz at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in
Lake View, Iowa. The two were later blessed with son Eric and daughter LeAnn. For many years Linda was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School helper, and LYF parent volunteer. Later Linda joined her adult children in membership at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. Linda devoted her time to her community as she carried out duties as a librarian for Story Hour at the Lake View Library, served on the Sac County Extension Council, and was willing to help with any other events when asked.
Linda worked as a Gravel inspector for Hallett Materials and Iowa State DOT. After many years in a male-dominated and dusty job, she was ready for a change. She worked at the Farm Service Agency office in Sac County, Kettering Insurance, and Colburn Insurance as an administrative assistant at both. Linda’s real passion became evident during her time working at WLVA / East Sac County Schools as the high school secretary where she became a mother figure to many students. Through all of this, she could also be found on the farm in the evenings and weekends; loading hogs, driving tractors and combine, and running for parts. Almost any job that needed to be done, she could do! Linda retired from the school job she loved in 2019 to take on her favorite job yet, full-time Grandma. Her grandchildren loved spending time with her at the park, on walks, coloring, cooking, and anything else they could talk her into. Linda also enjoyed boating, traveling to warm destinations, and spending time with her family and many friends.
Linda is survived by her husband Richard of Lake View, son Eric (Nora) Schultz of Lake View, and
daughter LeAnn (Tyson) Boeckman of Lake View; grandchildren William (2) and Clara (11 months)
Schultz, and Savannah (3) and Charlotte (1) Boeckman; brother Jerry (Patricia) Ames of Boone, and sister Marti (Steve) Nalean of Ogden; brother-in-law Greg (Kim Follenweider) Schultz of Lake View, and sister-in-law Janet (Paul Hjortsvang) Schultz of Boone; and several nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Marsha Ames, sister Tina Jensen, nephew Jared Ames, and parents-in-law LaVern and Louise Schultz.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Linda Schultz Memorial Fund.

“So sorry to the Schultz family. Just like the obituary said, she was like a mom figure to us kids at WLVA. You would think going to the office would be a drag. Not when she was working. She had the answers you needed and she always made you laugh about something. She even helped me coach USA volleyball with her daughter LeAnn. She will definitely be missed. RIP Linda.”

“There were and are still many faculty at East Sac that pride themselves on the fact that they sacrifice and commit 100% to helping raise the children of our community into well rounded young adults. Linda was the epitome of this type of outstanding character. She would go above and beyond every single day, (lord knows she saved me from getting into trouble on more than one occasion) all while fighting her own personal battle. This world has lost a true saint and pillar of our community. She will be missed. ”
