Eunice Ellerbrock, age 88 of Sac City, IA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Eunice Blanch Lovrien was born on October 14, 1931, to parents Charles and Lelah (Winslow) Lovrien in Eagle Grove, IA. She and her family later moved to Sac City where Eunice attended school and graduated from Sac City High School with the Class of 1950. She was an active  member of the First Christian Church in Sac City.
   On August 19, 1950, Eunice married Paul Ellerbrock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburn, IA. This union was blessed with five children: Paula, Jeff, Janet, Judy, and MaryAnn. They raised their family in Coon Valley Township and their children attended Lake View-Auburn School District. 
   Eunice was a gifted craftswoman who had many talents including sewing, woodworking and painting.
She also owned and operated her own ceramics shop called Mainly Memories in Sac City for several years. Eunice was employed by the local newspaper The Sac Sun as a proof reader for many years. This was a perfect job for her as she was an avid life-long reader, with a very inquisitive mind.  She also took part in neighborhood card clubs, and was a member of the Lion's Club.
   Eunice was a very enthusiastic cook who loved baking pastries for church gatherings as well as for gift giving. She had a quest for adventure and enjoyed riding her bicycle, camping and rafting down the Raccoon River. She was an amazing mom, grandma and great-grandma who put her family first and foremost above all.
   When asked how she would like to be remembered she answered with this: “One hundred years from now it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in or how much money I had, but the world may be a little better because I was important in the life of a child.”  Well, rest assured, she indeed left her mark on not just one child, but many throughout her life and on all those who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed,  but wanted her family and friends to know that she was not afraid to die, because she didn’t see it as the end of anything, but rather, a new beginning for her. May she rest in peace in the comfort of the Lord’s arms, forever.
   Left to cherish her memory include her children: Paula Murley of Sac City, IA, Jeff (JoAnn) Ellerbrock of Lytton, IA, Janet Ellerbrock of Lytton, IA, Judy (Allen) Koessel of Lake View, IA, and MaryAnn Ausborn-Ellerbrock of Sac City, IA; grandchildren: Jerry (Amanda) Murley, Jason (Dawn) Murley, Robert (Angela) Murley, Matt (Kelly) Murley, Jon (Angie) Ellerbrock, Adam (Alena) Naberhaus, Nick (Jess) Naberhaus, and Aaron Ausborn, Jr.; sixteen great-grandchildren; brother Everett (Masako) Lovrien of Fairview, OR; sister Lynn (Fred) Maiocco of Yakima, WA; many extended family members and friends.
   Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ellerbrock; parents Charles and Lelah Lovrien; brothers: Warren Lovrien, Leland Lovrien, Rex Lovrien, and James Winslow; and granddaughter Jaylin Ellerbrock.
