Warren A. Yohnke

Warren A. Yohnke, age 57, of Wall Lake, Iowa, passed away Friday, May 2, 2008, at 9:50 p.m., at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Services will be held on Monday, May 5th, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake with Father John McGuirk officiating. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake with a vigil service at 7:30.

Warren Albert Yohnke was born May 31, 1950, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital to Albert and Wilma (Carpenter) Yohnke. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake.

Warren attended country school for three years, then Lake View and Wall Lake where he graduated in 1968. Following high school Warren attended WIT in Sioux City, Iowa for two years learning the machinist trade. He worked at Arnold Tool & Die Works of Council Bluffs, Iowa and many machine shops as a tool and die maker.

Warren enjoyed woodworking and making tools and other items of metal.

He is survived by two brothers: David (Peggy) Yohnke of Wall Lake and Fred (Jean) Yohnke of Ida Grove; five sisters: Virginia Marx of Azle, Texas, Eileen (Merle) Halter of North Platte, Nebraska, Janet (Larry) Mueller of Portage, Michigan, Mary Beth Fastje of Des Moines, Suzanne (Guy) Romero of Riverton, Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents, Albert and Wilma Yohnke, preceded him in death.
