Minnie Putbrese

Minnie Putbrese, age 91, of Lake View, Iowa, formerly of Sac City, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2008, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 8th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City with Rev. Andrew Ratcliffe officiating. Burial will be at the Ferguson Cemetery in Lake View.

Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home in Sac City.

Minnie Bruns was born on February 24, 1917 on a farm near Lake View, the daughter of Dora and Gerd Bruns. She was baptized and confirmed as a child in the Lutheran Faith and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sac City. She graduated from Lake View High School in 1935 and attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake for one year.

On November 24, 1940, Minnie was united in marriage to Lawrence Putbrese in Lake View. Three children were born to this union: Mary, Beverly, and David. They made their home near Sac City where Lawrence farmed and Minnie cared for her family and home. She loved to garden and bake. Minnie was a member of the Lutheran women’s group. Most of all Minnie cherished her grandchildren and always looked forward to their visits.

Survivors include her daughters: Mary (Ron) Rademacher of Shoreview, MN; Beverly (Gary) Cammarata of Sedalia, CO; and David (Anne) Putbrese of Grand Forks, ND; six grandchildren: Mark Rademacher of Washington, D.C., Laura (Kurt Burmeister) Rademacher of Stockton, CA, Tanon Cammarata of Edgewater, CO, Brandon Cammarata of Cheyenne, WY, Emily Putbrese of Overland Park, KS, and Bryn Putbrese of Lawrence, KS; one great-grandson Arthur Rademacher; and many extended family members.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence; brothers: John, Henry, and Jerry Bruns; and sisters: LaVerna Tiefenthaler and Angeline Sieve.
