Lois Von Ahn
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 25th, at the First Christian Church in Sac City with Rev. Sharla Hulsey officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home in Sac City. Lois was born on September 22, 1922 in her family home in Douglas Township, Sac County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lee Ray and Cora May (Wickersheim) Lupton. On July 20, 1946, Lois was united in marriage to Rex Von Ahn at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked in the Sac County Agricultural Stabilization & Conservation Office for 33 years, retiring in 1976. Lois was a member of the First Christian Church in Sac City, Past Secretary of the Iowa Palomino Exhibitors Association, secretary of the Sac County Saddle Club, and member of the SOS Club, Red Hat Society, and Shady Ladies Night Out. Her hobbies included horseback riding; showing horses, trail riding, ballroom dancing, crocheting, leather tooling and cooking. Survivors include her two sisters: Marlys Salisbury of Sac City and Janet Hull and her husband Roger of Corning, Iowa; sister-in-law Zola Damm; and many nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Rex Von Ahn on January 16, 1991. |
