Laura Pierce, age 81, of Sac City, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008, at Parkview Care Center in Sac City, Iowa.

Services for Laura will be at the Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City, on Monday December 22, 2008, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City is in charge of the arrangements.

Laura Mae Norton was born to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Lee) Norton on February 25, 1927, in New Underwood, South Dakota. Laura moved to Auburn at age 16. She married Morris William Pierce on February 7, 1945. They lived in Grant City for most of their marriage. They welcomed three sons and three daughters. Laura worked outside the home at Ocoma Foods in Carroll and at Noble Manufacturing in Sac City. Laura and Morris moved to Sac City in 1984. She was widowed in 1989. She enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles, and loved spending time at the casino.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters: Lenore (Tony) Frisbie, Norfolk, NE; Marilyn (Steve) Christian, Eagle Grove, IA; Lois (Larry) Skinner, Lake City, IA; her son Clarence (Sun-Yo) of Copperas Cove, TX; brother Jack (Madge) Norton, Port Orchard, WA; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Morris; sons: Morris William (Billy) and LaVerne; her parents Lawrence and Elizabeth; and brothers: Lawrence and Robert Norton.
