Larrine M. Boerner

Larrine M. Boerner, age 83, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Loring Hospital in Sac City.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, May 19th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City with Pastor Vicki Fisher officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Larrine Minnie Schiernbeck was born on April 6, 1925 near Kiron, Iowa, one of nine children, born to Carl and Clara (Hill) Schiernbeck. She attended country school. On November 30, 1944, Larrine was united in marriage to Robert Dale Boerner in Odebolt, Iowa. To this union seven children were born: Patricia, Delores, Bobby, Joy, Joan, Judith and Mary Jane.

With a large family to care for, Larrine was always busy. She enjoyed making beautiful embroidered gifts for her family, camping and fishing, going on “road trips”, and working in her vegetable garden and flower garden. She worked at Vilas and Bil Mar for twenty years, retiring in 1987. After her retirement Larrine enjoyed traveling and taking in the sites. She provided a loving and comfortable home for her family, and cherished their visits.

Larrine was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and good friend. Survivors include her children: Patricia Vanderheiden of Spencer; Delores (Lefty) Carroll of Sac City; Joy (Orlin) Haradon of Sac City; Joan (Brian) Fryar of Denison; and Judi (Scott) Wallerstedt of Ankeny; nine grandchildren: Tonya Niles, Valerie Rath, Heath and Shane Carroll, Deena Daisy, Jeremy, Keri and Matt Frank, and Amanda Lapel; Dalin’s wife Missie Haradon; and 17 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her sister Helen Rodman of Chatsworth, New Jersey; brother Hugo Schiernbeck of Lamar, Missouri; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Larrine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Boerner on June 17, 1989; infant daughter Mary Jane Boerner; son Bobby Boerner; grandson Dalin Haradon; two sisters: Dorothy Booth and Luella Sudyka; and four brothers: Clarence, Wilbert, Louie and Raymond Schiernbeck.
