Louise E. Boeckman

Louise E. Boeckman, age 91, of Early, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Park View Care Center in Sac City.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 1st at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early, Iowa. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.

Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early, with a Rosary at 5:00 and prayer service at 7:00.

Louise was born on July 8, 1916, in Carroll County, Halbur, Iowa, the daughter of Theo and Anna (Wittrock) Eischeid. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur. She attended school through the eighth grade.

On October 9, 1940, Louise was united in marriage to Cecil Boeckman at St. Augustine. Louise and Cecil made their home near Early, Iowa, where they were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Louise was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family and loved creating a comfortable home for them to come home to. She enjoyed their many visits as her family was very dear to her. Louise enjoyed gardening, playing cards, baking angel food cakes (the best from scratch) and dancing with Cecil. She was a school cook, short order cook, and loading chute painter for many years, retiring in 1985.

Survivors include her husband Cecil of Early; two daughters: Karen Blass and husband Doug of Early and Kris Blaha and husband David of Boone, IA; five grandchildren: Jodi Kuehl and husband Chad, Scott Blaha, Matt Blaha, Cari Blass and special friend Justin Wieck, and Andrea Blass. Other survivors include her sisters: Florence Gephart of Carroll, Irma Fast of Windom, MN, Marie Schreck of Carroll; sisters-in-law: Lucille Steinkamp of Brighton, CO, Fern Schaefer of Carroll, Mary Eischeid of Spencer, Irene Eischeid of Halbur, and Darlene and Don Riesberg of Halbur; many extended family members and friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law Ben and Mary Boeckman; sister Lorine (Frank) Sextro, and Tilly (John) Busenbark; brothers: Leonard, Hilbert (Agnes), Ted, Louis, and Alvin; sister-in-law Charlott (Harold) Prescott; brothers-in-law: Cato Gephart, Peter Fast, Elmer Schreck, Norville Steinkamp, and Gale Schaefer.
