Jack Rosemeyer
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, May 23rd, at the Evangelical Free Church in Arthur with Rev. John Aiken officiating. Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22nd at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Odebolt. Jack was born at home on the farm in Crawford County, Wisconsin, on January 8, 1930 to Archie and Velma Bennett Rosemeyer. He attended country school and graduated from Soldiers Grove High School in 1948. On April 4, 1953, Jack was united in marriage to Olga Benora Hatland in a double wedding in Dubuque, Iowa, along with their life long friends Jim and Darlene Nutter. To this union four children were born: Norine, Valerie, Bradley, and Jewelene. They moved to Odebolt in 1958, where Jack drove truck for the Grant Langley Creamery and later worked for I.B.P. He began long distance driving and drove for many years over the road, retiring in July of 1995 from Eberly and Sons. Survivors include his children: Norine Black and husband Duane of Ames, Iowa; Valerie Beverland of Omaha, Nebraska; Bradley Rosemeyer and wife Kristy of Odebolt; and Jewelene Rosemeyer and friend Donald Gronemeyer of Odebolt; eight grandchildren: Ward Black, Chad Black, Jasmine Rosemeyer, Shawna Rosemeyer Chiasson, Priscilla Beverland, Leah Carlson, Brianna Carlson and Royce Rosemeyer; three great-grandchildren: Madison Black, Hannah Rosemeyer and Olivia Chiasson. Other survivors include his brothers: Robert Rosemeyer of Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin and Gene Rosemeyer of Myakka City, Florida; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife Olga on October 21, 2006, and brother Max Rosemeyer. |
