Gloria G. Goyer
Gloria G. Goyer passed away of cancer March 5, 2008, at Blackhawk Care Center in Lake View at the age of 84 years.
Gloria was born January 15, 1924, to Sidney and Sophia Nelson, the third of seven children.
She was baptized and confirmed at rural St John’s Lutheran Church near Odebolt. She was born and raised in the Boyer area and attended Country School.
Gloria married Leonard Goyer April 1, 1945, in Amarillo, Texas. To this union two daughters were born: Pam (Chuck) Wollesen of Lake View and Jackie (Steve) Kolb of Pocahontas.
Gloria was a homemaker who had a great love of the outdoors especially growing beautiful flowers and gardening. But in later years she enjoyed playing bingo.
She loved her family, especially her five grandchildren: Kim (Al) Herrera, Eric (Jen) Wollesen, Shanon (Michelle) Rohlfing, Deb Murillo, and Joel Rohlfing. She also enjoyed spending time with her 11 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Leonard of 63 years, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her sisters: Bonnie Boerner of Odebolt and Carole Skarin of Lake View; brother Sidney (Dot) Nelson, Jr. of Lake View; sisters-in-law: Carole (Robert) Hanke of Lake View and Evelyn Nelson of Charter Oak; brother-in-law Jim Matre of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Emery Nelson and Dean Nelson; sister Joyce Matre; and brothers-in-law: Bob Skarin and Ralph Boerner.
Memorial services will be held later this spring. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
