Erma Zimmerman, age 90, of Sac City, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008, at Oak Terrace Estates in Sac City.
   
Erma Wilhelmina Schultz was born on February 19, 1918, to Martha and William Schultz of Olin, Iowa.  Erma Recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends at Oak Terrace Nursing Home this spring.  She passed away on Monday, October 27, 2008.
   
Erma grew up in both Iowa and Minnesota and married Floyd Larson soon after finishing high school.  They were joined together in marriage on April 8, 1936, in Walker, Minnesota.  Together with an old Model T truck they operated a cream route.  In 1941, the family moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Floyd worked as a truck driver during WWII while Erma raised their three daughters.  In 1949 Floyd took a job with the Sac County Electric Company and moved the family to Sac City.  Erma was widowed in 1954 after Floyd was killed in an accident at the Power Plant.
   
She remained in Sac City and later met and married Earl Zimmerman at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, on February 18, 1961.  Earl died in 1978.  He had worked for the Sac City Lumber Company (later known as Westerman’s) for over 48 years.
   
Erma worked as a custodian for the Sac City High School and Farber & Otteman Funeral Home for many years.
   
She enjoyed her flower garden and card clubs.  Erma loved to travel and collected salt & peppershakers from the many places that she visited.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sac City and will be dearly missed by her many friends and family.
    
She is survived by her children: Margaret (Gene) Schramm of Sac City, IA; Shirley (Jim) Wagner of Big Pine Key, FL; and Anita (Mort) Rau of Catlett, VA; grandchildren: Lynn (Paul) Hays of Urbandale, IA; Laura (Chad) Ascheman of Urbandale IA; Michael Schramm of Sac City, IA; Mark (Brenda) Schramm of Nemaha, IA; Bryan Buckley of Sac City, IA; Norman (Teresa) Buckley of Orlando, FL; Robert (Beth) Buckley of Cornelius, NC; Nathan (Elizabeth) Rau of Seattle, WA; 11 great-grandchildren: Danny, Kacey, Nicole, Matt, Justin, Jessica, Tara, Hillary, Lawrence, Aaron, and Justin.
   
Preceded in death by her parents: Martha and William; husbands; Floyd Larson, Earl Zimmerman; brothers: Howard and Harry Schultz.
