Clarence L. Jensen, age 74, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Mass of the Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 14th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake with Father John McGuirk officiating. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday with a Rosary at 9:45.
Clarence was born on May 28, 1934, in Carroll, Iowa, the son of Oluf and Margaret (Redig) Jensen. He graduated from Lake View High School in 1952. He served his country in the United States Army from October 15, 1956 through October 14, 1958.
On November 14, 1957 Clarence was united in marriage to Doris Honz. A son Marty was born to this union. Clarence and Doris were divorced in 1989.
He worked for Wilson Concrete in Bellevue, Nebraska and after completing the required training, did sheet metal work in Omaha. They moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he continued his trade for approximately seven years. Clarence returned to the family farm in Lake View where he farmed and did sheet metal work in the area for several more years.
Clarence was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake. He loved spending time with his son and granddaughter in Council Bluffs, camping, fishing and going hunting.
Survivors include his son, Marty Jensen and wife Susan of Council Bluffs and their daughter Cameron; brother Paul Jensen of Correctionville, Iowa; two sisters: Mary Becker of Lake View and Dorothy Lanphier and husband Larry of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by his parents and bother-in-law Francis Becker.
