Beulah M. Schulte

Beulah M. Schulte, age 91, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at Loring Hospital in Sac City.

Mass of the Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 22nd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Sac City under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home in Sac City with a vigil service at 7:00.

Beulah Mae Reinhart was born on April 29, 1917, in Early, Iowa, one of six children born to Henry and Ruby Mae (Drury) Reinhart. She grew up in Early, graduating from Early High School in 1935. On February 12, 1942, Beulah was united in marriage to Paul Schulte. They made their home near Sac City where they raised their three children: Marilyn, Donald “Ted”, and Wendall. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City and a member of St. Mary’s Guild.

Beulah was a retired nurses aid, working at Loring Hospital for many years. She was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother who treasured her family. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, wonderful sense of humor and her caring nature. She enjoyed doing ceramics (making many family pieces), loved to play the piano, and work in her flower garden. Beulah crocheted lovely afghans and bedspreads, which she gave as gifts to others, enjoyed collecting dollhouses, and shopping for clothes and shoes.

Survivors include her children: Marilyn Schulte Irwin of Cabot, Arkansas: Ted and wife Linda and Wendall and wife Mona all of Sac City; grandchildren: Douglas Irwin and wife Rosylani of Surprise, Arizona, April Schulte of Burnsville, Minnesota, Robyn Schulte of Chicago, Illinois, Michelle Snyder and husband Al of Oelwein, IA, Melissa Langbein and husband Gary of Sac City; great-grandchildren: Desireé Young of Strafford, Missouri, Dobie Adam of Rio, Wisconsin, Billy Zarn and wife Angie of Surprise, Arizona, Kali Snyder of Oelwein and Nicole, Brandon, and Joe Langbein of Sac City; great-great grandchildren: twins, Dacota and Lori Walker of Strafford, MO, and William Zarn, III, of Surprise, AZ; many extended family members; and a host of friends.

Waiting for her to join them are those who preceded her in death: her parents Henry and Ruby; husband Paul; four brothers: Henry “Cecil”, Wendall, Oscar “Hillie”, and Maynard Reinhart; sister Sara Hunt; and son-in-law “R. L.” Richard Irwin.
