Betty W. Frank
Betty W. Frank was born December 16, 1922, in Wall Lake, IA, the daughter of Roy and Wilhelmina (Jensen) Frank. As a youth she grew up in Wall Lake, attending and graduating from Wall Lake High School. She was also baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Wall Lake. Following graduation she moved to Wichita, KS, and worked for Boeing. She later moved to Burlington, IA, where she worked as an ammunition inspector. It was there that she met Chester Frank. They fell in love and were married on November 1, 1945, in Burlington. They made their home on a farm near Lake View, and were blessed with three sons: Douglas, Kregg, and Denes. She was a proud matriarch to the family, providing a warm and loving home. She enjoyed needlework and quilting. She also spent time fishing and caring for her garden. Later in life, Chester and Betty enjoyed traveling and were proud to say they made it to 49 of the 50 United States. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 63 years: Chester of Lake View; sons: Douglas (Cheryl) Frank of Stillwater, MN, Kregg Frank of Lake View, Denes (Sue Anne) Frank of Wall Lake; grandchildren: Brian Frank, Ginelle Uhlenkamp, Dana Brannon, Ryan Frank, Paul Frank, Christine Muchai; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law: Ilene Frank of Burlington, IA. Preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Wilhelmina; and brother: Donald Frank. |
