Brent J. Blessington

Brent James Blessington, Age 28, of Wall Lake, Iowa, passed away July 31, 2008, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 4th at the Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake, with Pastor Don Gibson presiding. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Sac City, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 3rd, at the Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake. Farber and Otteman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Brent James Blessington was born in Sac City, Iowa, on November 30th, 1979. He was one of two sons born to his parents Lloyd Blessington and Kimberly (Schultz) Galbraith. He spent his childhood living in Texas and Lake View, Iowa, and attended Wall Lake View Auburn (WLVA) grade school. He continued his education while living in Lake View and attended WLVA high school.

As an adult Brent worked in carpentry and construction. He enjoyed various hobbies including racing cars, golf, volleyball, and bowling. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan, and enjoyed watching Nascar races. He also kept a garden at his home in Wall Lake. He enjoyed spending time with friends and is fondly remembered as the guy who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends, and all those that knew and loved him.

Brent is survived by his parents Bob Blessington Sr. of Lake View and Kim (Tim) Galbraith of Lake View; brother: Bobby Blessington Jr. of Lincoln, NE; step-sisters: Gina Wetzel, Muscatine, IA, Lisa Blessington, Urbandale, IA; grandmother: Blenna Blessington, Lake View; one nephew, one niece, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Lloyd Blessington, and grandparents: Charles and Edna Schultz.
