Ruth Ann Racobs, age 80, of Lake View, Iowa, formerly of Breda, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2007, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 24th, at the Dow City Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.

Ruth was born on September 14, 1926, at Arion, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar E. and Agnes M. (Tripp) Davis. She grew up around Dow City and Dunlap, Iowa, area. She graduated from Tennant High School, Tennant, Iowa, and continued her schooling at beauty school in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Ruth treasured her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and especially loved spending time with them. She enjoyed sewing, working on cross-stitch projects, doing crossword puzzles, and playing cards. She was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church.

After raising her family, Ruth worked as a beautician at the Breda Beauty Salon from 1973 through 1993. She retired and moved to Boone in 1997. Two years later she moved to Lake View, and in 2001 moved to Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View due to failing health.

Survivors include her two daughters-in-law: Helen Racobs of Pueblo, Colorado, and Betty (Melvin) Lamaak of Branson, Missouri; five grandchildren: Regina, Matthew, Becky Jo, Brad, and Bridget; and eight great-grandchildren: Jason, Jessica, Justin, Mikayla, Samantha, Bradley, Ashton, and Ryli. Other survivors include her two sisters: Ida (Dennis) Pudenz of Lake View and Joan Jenkins of Forsyth, Missouri; sister-in-law Betty Davis; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Barry Lynn Racobs and Leslie Craig Racobs; three sisters: Bertha Firnhaber, Leota Crabb, and June Davis; two brothers: Dennie and George Davis; and granddaughter Brenda Racobs.
