Loren A. Rowedder
Loren A. Rowedder, age 66, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away on Monday,
March 26, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral
services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 31st at Peace
Lutheran Church in Wall Lake with Pastor Roger Carlisle and Assisting
Pastor Arno Melz officiating. Burial will follow at the Wall Lake
Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake where the family will be present. Loren was born on September 11, 1940, in Carroll to E. George and Helma (Else) Rowedder. He was baptized on September 29, 1940, and confirmed on April 11, 1954, at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake where he remained a lifelong member. He graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1958 and attended Northwest Missouri State graduating in 1963. He was a member of the U. S. Army Reserves for seven years. On August 26, 1962, Loren was united in marriage to Janice Provost at the United Methodist Church in Carroll. He became part of the family business, Rowedder Implement, in 1963 selling Ford equipment along with snowmobiles, ATV’s, and water craft for over 40 years. Loren was active in the community serving on the Wall Lake Chamber, the Corn Belt Telephone Board for 22 years, and Sac County Fair Board for 12 years. He enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, snowmobiling trips to Minnesota and Wisconsin, Canadian fishing trips, and boating on Black Hawk Lake. He was also active in restoration of habitat and the trumpeter swan program. He loved to eat angel food cake. Loren is survived by his wife Janice of Lake View; three daughters: Renee of Carroll, Roxanne of New York City, NY, and Randi Jo of West Des Moines; a brother LeRoy (Lorene) Rowedder of Wall Lake; uncle Raymond (Phyllis) Else of Mapleton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. |
