Eva E. Boerner

Eva E. Boerner, 92, of Odebolt, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2007, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 31st, at the First Presbyterian Church in Odebolt, with Reverend Ken Fells officiating. Burial will follow in the Odebolt Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 30th, at the funeral home.

Born January 15, 1915, in Terrill, Iowa, Eva Elizabeth Landgraf was the daughter of Michael and Annie (Lamaak) Landgraf. Eva grew up in Herring, Iowa, and attended the Sac County rural school in that area, graduating from the eighth grade. At an early age she worked for various families in their homes. Eva was baptized July 13, 1919, in Herring and in 1953 she joined the First Presbyterian Church in Odebolt.

On December 19, 1935, Eva married Dallas T. Boerner at the Wheatland Presbyterian Church in Breda, Iowa. One daughter, Lois, was born to this union. They made their home on several farms in the Odebolt area. In 1959 they retired from farming and moved to their home in Odebolt. Dallas died January 29, 1990.

Eva was an active partner in farming with her husband. Her greatest enjoyments were gardening, preserving the produce and sharing with friends. She took pride in her flowers and working in her yard. Her home and family were important to her. Eva and Dallas enjoyed fishing, and often went to Minnesota to fish.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dallas; three brothers: Leslie, Francis and Darriel Landgraf: and sister Bernice Landgraf.

Survivors include her daughter, Lois and Burdette Benson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one granddaughter, Connie and Gordon Teubner; three great-granddaughters: Kristin, Kellie, and Kaitlyn Teubner of Centennial, Colorado; one brother, LaVern and Veda Landgraf of Albert City, Iowa; sisters-in-law: Viola Landgraf of Denison, Iowa, and Janet Landgraf of Omaha, Nebraska; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
