Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, November 27th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Odebolt with Rev. Albert Buelow officiating. Burial will be at the Odebolt Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Friends and family may call at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Odebolt on Sunday, November 26th, where family will be present from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

Trent Dale Godbersen was born on October 7, 1990, in Sac City, Iowa, the son of Dale and Linda (Auen) Godbersen. He was baptized November 18, 1990, and confirmed May 1, 2005, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Odebolt.

Working on the farm, he learned at an early age how to drive a tractor and his love for tractor pulling began. He loved winning tractor pulls on his tractor “Eleanor” and with the “pullinteam.” He also enjoyed going on tractor rides with Grandpa Godbersen and truck rides with Grandpa Auen. Besides tractor pulling, he played football and basketball at Odebolt-Arthur High School where he was in the 10th grade. Trent was a member of the FFA and was the recipient of the Star Greenhand Award his freshman year. Some of his favorite things included: hunting; farming; playing PlayStation; driving around; snowmobiling; boating; riding his moped; and hanging out with his friends. Trent also enjoyed working for the Lundells on their farm.

Trent died on November 24, 2006, at the age of 16, at his home. May he find joy in the life everlasting. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harold Godbersen.

Those left to mourn his passing include his parents, Dale and Linda Godbersen of Odebolt and his sister, Jade; his grandparents, Ivan and Darlene Auen and Hazel Godbersen all of Odebolt; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.
