Alma A. Frank
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, June 29th, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View with Rev. Charles Bettin officiating. Burial will be at the Luckow Cemetery in Auburn with the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 28th at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View. Alma Angie Pauline Mohr was born April 17, 1917, on the family farm west of Auburn, the daughter of John F. and Anna (Johnson) Mohr. She was baptized July 1, 1917 at Peace Lutheran Church in Ulmer. She attended Auburn High School through the ninth grade. On February 23, 1938, wedding bells were ringing at Peace Lutheran Church in Ulmer as Alma was united in marriage to Hiko Frank. Three children were born to this union, Joanne, Verlin, and Jerel. Alma was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school for many years at Peace Lutheran at Ulmer and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View, where she was a member. She was always willing to help anyone, taking many to church. Alma loved to garden, crochet, play cards, and especially visit with friends and family. Her children and grandchildren will cherish the memory of her love of baking, especially angel food cake from scratch and her home made bread and buns. She worked at Twilight Acres Nursing home for twenty years in the housekeeping department. In 1975 Alma moved to Wall Lake from the farm. Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Wiese and special friend David Nelson of Fort Dodge, IA; her son Jerel Frank and wife Elaine of Lake View; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; seven step great-great grandchildren; her brother, Alvin Mohr and wife Rose of Auburn, IA, brother-in-law, Leland Bruggeman of Lanesboro, IA; and many extended family members. Alma was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Dana in 1967; husband, Hiko in 1967; son Verlin in 2003; brothers, Friedrich and John Mohr; and sisters, Friederike Mohr, Johanna Frank, and Ida Bruggeman. |
