Robert Tibbs

Funeral services for Robert Tibbs of Sac City will be held Tuesday, January 11th, 2:00 pm, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City with Rev. Sharla Hulsey presiding. Kim Olson and Amanda Schuur will take care of the flower arrangements. Pallbearers include the following: Paul Ort, Dean Huseman, Kerrin Meyer, Terry Pearson, Mike Gergis, Terry Peters, and Jody Hutchinson. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Sac City under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 pm on Monday, January 10th at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.

Robert Bolden Tibbs, age 39, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2005, as the result of a car accident.

Robert was born on December 28, 1965, in Seattle, Washington, the son of Robert Tibbs, Sr. and Alice Geneva (Dhue) Tibbs. He was baptized and confirmed in the Presbyterian faith at Mount Baker Presbyterian Church. He was raised in the Seattle area, attended local schools, and continued his education with truck driving school.

On November 19, 1988, Robert was united in marriage to Christine Birt at the First Christian Church in Sac City. To this union two children were born: Ashley and Joshua. He worked as a welder for Friesen of Iowa in Storm Lake.

Robert was a devoted father and husband who enjoyed camping with his family. Holidays were special times for him, he loved to celebrate all of them. He had a passion for cars and music and enjoyed hunting, especially for deer.

Survivors include his wife, Chris of Sac City; daughter Ashley, and son Joshua; father Robert Tibbs, Sr. of Seattle, WA; brother and sisters: Wesley, Arlene, and Alisa all of Seattle; parents-in-law: LuVerne and Linda Birt and Linda’s mother, Elizabeth Cretsinger all of Sac City; brother-in-law Brian Birt; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Tibbs.
